Kazakhstan has a huge potential mineral resource base for the creation of a new area - the production of potash fertilizers and boric acid.

The Sätimola potash and boron salts deposit is located within the North Caspian basin of formation groundwater and is one of the largest in the world.

Satimola Field

Construction of Kazakhstan's first enrichment and production complex for mining and processing of potash and boron salts on the basis of the Satimola deposit will allow the Republic of Kazakhstan to fully provide potash fertilizers for agriculture and retail trade as a single-component potash fertilizer for direct application to soil, as well as for industry in the production of chemical products and compound fertilizers.

The Satimola deposit is a unique deposit both in terms of reserves and the content of useful components. In addition to potash, the ores contain boron, bromine, magnesium and other associated elements.

Potash ore enrichment

Potash ore enrichment - will be carried out using the flotation method with the application of new reagents and modern equipment to produce high-quality potash fertilizer that meets global standards.

Project innovations are aimed at creating more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable potash ore beneficiation technologies:

Use of new reagents: Use of more selective and environmentally friendly collectors, foaming agents and bioreagents.
Optimization of reagent dosage and supply: Use of automated monitoring and control systems for accurate dosing of reagents.
Use of information technology: Implementation of Industry 4.0 elements.
Reduction of water consumption: Use of closed water supply cycles. Application of concentrate dewatering and drying methods.

International logistics

Our well-established logistics allows us to efficiently deliver products to markets in Europe, China, South America, Asia and the Middle East via sea ports and land crossings. We use routes through the Baltic, Black and Caspian Seas.

Role of Qazaq Kalium Ltd. in the Potash Fertilizer Industry

The role of Qazaq Kalium Ltd. in the investment project “Construction of an enrichment and production complex” for the production of potassium salts on the basis of the Satimola deposit is to create an export-oriented enterprise that is part of the priority sectors of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a research and development center (RDC) to provide world-class subsoil services.

The first in the Republic of Kazakhstan production facilities for integrated processing of 25.0 million tons of potash ores per year and 1.0 million tons of boron salt ores per year will be established in the West Kazakhstan region, producing potash fertilizers (potassium chloride, boric acid) as products with a large and growing domestic and global market volume, and with the highest export prices.
